Two ice-cream factories fined

A mobile court yesterday fined two unauthorised ice cream factories Tk 1 lakh each in the capital's Sabujbagh for manufacturing sub-standard ice creams and milk products with unrefined water and harmful chemicals and ingredients and in unhealthy environment.

Mujibor Rahman of Danish Ice Cream Factory and Anwar Hossain of Tripti Ice Cream Factory will have to suffer one month's imprisonment in default. Rapid Action Battalion-2 officials also destroyed 1.05 lakh pieces of sub-standard ice creams for not having BSTI approval.
