Two fake NGO officials held in Pirojpur

The Detective Branch of police on Thursday night arrested two officials of a fake non-government organisation (NGO) in Pirojpur town who used to blackmail government officials in the name of disclosing their corruption details and also swindle youths by luring them with fake jobs.

Khan Al Kawsar, 42, of Pirojur Sadar upazila, masqueraded as the executive director while Md Masud Uddin Badal, 48, of Kawkhali upazila, as the deputy director of Janosharthe Durniti Anushandhan (investigating corruption for public interest), said police at a press conference.

The NGO has no registration and they used to change their address frequently, police added.
