Two brick kilns fined in Ctg

The Department of Environment (DoE) fined two brick kilns Tk 3 lakh each for cutting hill in Satkania upazila of Chittagong yesterday.
On information, a team of DoE visited the kilns -- Badshah Brick Field and Ma Brick Field -- in Chankhola union and found their workers were cutting an adjacent hill for manufacturing bricks on March 22, DoE officials said.
Later the DoE issued notices to the owners for hearing.
