Stringent security measures taken for Durga Puja

Law enforcement agencies have taken all-out security measures to maintain law and order during Durga Puja, one of biggest religious festivals of the Hindus.

There will be foolproof security measures in place at vulnerable puja mandaps across the country.

The decision was taken at a recent meeting at the Police Headquarters with Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque in the chair.

Meeting sources said the IGP instructed the police officers and other law enforcement agencies to remain alert so that no untoward incident happens while making idols, celebrating Durga Puja and immersing idols.

He also directed the field level officers to remain watchful so that no vested quarter can jeopardise the law and order situation.
