Spaces under flyovers to be freed: Taposh

Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Barrister Fazle Noor Taposh today said spaces under flyovers would be freed for ensuring vehicle movement and healthy environment.

"Spaces under the flyovers are widely occupied and filled with garbage… We are taking initiatives to free all spaces for vehicle movements and make a healthy environment for people," he said while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural programme of Laxmibazar playground, according to a press release.

DSCC Chief Executive Officer ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, Chief Engineer Rezaur Rahman and Secretary Akramuzzaman were present, among others.

As part of the weekly regular inspection programme, the DSCC mayor visited several parts of the Moghbazar-Mouchak flyover at the Moghbazar intersection and gave various directions.

"According to my election manifesto, I want to ensure facilities for children at all free places under the DSCC areas… We have already identified the places in wards 7, 13, 27 and 35," the mayor added.
