Six get World Teachers' Day Award

Six educationists got "World Teachers' Day Award" yesterday for their contributions to education and research in the country.

They are Dhaka University Vice Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique, Buet VC Khaleda Ekram, Dr Atiq Rahman, adviser to ILO Md Abdur Rafiq, retired primary school teacher Jibon Krishna Dey of Barisal, and high school teacher Al Mahmud of Narail. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid as chief guest handed over crests and books to them at a function in DU TSC auditorium. World Teachers' Day-2015 National Observance Committee organised the event to mark the day.

Nahid also posthumously honoured eminent educationist Principal Ibrahim Khan on the occasion.
