Savar human chain demands arrest of suspected child killer

Several thousand villagers of Baherchor in Savar, outside the capital, yesterday formed a human chain demanding arrest of the prime accused in the killing of three-year-old Manik after abduction.

Manik, son of Shofukul Islam was abducted on June 30 and killed afterwards as the family did not pay Tk 5 lakh ransom demanded by the abductors.

Police recovered his body on July 06. Later, following a case filed by Manik's father accusing six people police arrested five accept prime accused Mintu Miah, a neighbour of Shofukul.
