Question leak protesters looking for allies
sought evidence of leak from them
Protesters yesterday distributed leaflets in several schools, colleges, universities, and medical colleges in the capital, calling for support for their demands that the government hold a fresh admission test and prosecute those who leaked the test questions.
They will hold a solidarity rally at the capital's Central Shaheed Minar today at 10:00am.
On behalf of the agitating admission candidates, Ayatullah Hasnat Behesti told a press briefing, "We distributed leaflets in several institutions since early morning. We urged all students, teachers to join us on Monday spontaneously abstaining from work."
The rally will continue till 5:00pm.
Ashraf Kamal, representative of the guardians, said the health minister assured them through a lawmaker that he would discuss the issue with the protesters at his residence.
"We have formed a team of 25 to meet with him, but we are yet to get the final proposal of the meeting. We want an open discussion in the presence of journalists," he told The Daily Star.
He added, "A National Security Intelligence (NSI) official also asked us for the evidence of the question paper leak in order to send those to the prime minister. Hopefully, we will be able to send our evidence through the official to the honourable prime minister on Monday."
The admission seekers have been demonstrating since the test was held on September 18.
