Privatisation Commission, BoI to be merged: PM

The Privatisation Commission and the Board of Investment (BoI) will be merged to boost investment and industrialisation in the country, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

She said this at a views-exchange meeting with senior officials of the Prime Minister's Office.

"I think there is nothing for privatisation now. We want to see how these [state-run industries] can be utilised for investment in the country," she said.

Hasina said paper works for the merger is almost complete.
