President wants youths' role in nation building

President Abdul Hamid yesterday emphasised preparing the youth as worthy and ideal citizens by giving them proper education and involving them in nation-building activities.

In a message on the eve of the National Youth Day 2015, the president said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has launched "Vision 2021 and 2041" to achieve a middle income country status by 2021 and a developed country status by 2041.

Greeting the youth, the president said this year's theme "Jegechhe Jubak, Jegechhe Desh; Lakkha 2041-e Unnata Bangladesh" is time-befitting.

"They are an important segment of the country and the driving force of the nation, so they should be built as a disciplined workforce to let them be in the mainstream of development activities," he said. He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had a dream to build Bangladesh as "Golden Bengal" and urged all to work together to fulfill his dream.
