Plumber dies of electrocution in Dhaka

A plumber died from electrocution while working at a building in Dhaka's Gopibagh area this morning.

The dead was identified as Javed Hossain (25), son of Amanullah from Cumilla district.

Deceased's co-worker Sabuz Mia said the incident happened around 10:00am when they were working at a seven-storey under-construction building.

The water pump of the building seized up during work in the morning. As Javed touched it to check what happed to it, he was electrocuted, he said.

In critical condition, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 11:00am.

The body was sent to hospital mortuary for autopsy, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police outpost.
