‘No development in region’: Sit-in in front of Khulna Development Authority office

Activists of Greater Khulna Development Movement Coordination Committee (GKDMCC) staged a sit-in this morning in front of Khulna Development Authority (KDA) office, saying there is no development in the region.

Protesting "unplanned projects" taken by KDA and public sufferings in the name of project implementation, the activists continued their sit-in from 11:00am to 12:00pm, reports our Khulna correspondent. 

The speakers said KDA has to stop unplanned residential projects and their construction, which are violating relevant rules. It has to stop irregularities in project implementation, has to start construction work on Rupsha Bypass Shipyard, Nirala, Gollamari-Rayer Mahal, Aronghata-Rayer Mahal roads and investigate allegations of irregularities against Chairman Abul Makim, they said.

KDA never cooperates with Khulna City Corporation, which is one of the barriers to developing Khulna, alleged GKDMCC president Sheikh Ashrafuzzaman.
