Motorcyclist killed in Demra road accident

A motorcyclist was killed after a truck crashed into his motorbike in Dhaka's Demra this evening.

Based on information from a National Identification (NID) card believed to be the victim's, Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Demra Police Station identified the deceased as Sohel Rana (30), son of Nurul Islam of Baura village in Lalmonirhat's Patgram upazila.

The OC said the speeding truck hit the motorcycle on Bansherpool road in Demra around 6:00pm, leaving Sohel dead on the spot.

Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee, the OC added.
