Man gets life term for killing cousin

A Sylhet court yesterday sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for killing his cousin two years ago over family feud.
Liakat Ali, 24, of Jalalnagar village in Bianibazar upazila, was also fined Tk 20,000, in default, to suffer six more months in jail.
According to the prosecution, Liakat strangled Tareq Ahmed, 16, son of Manik Miah, in the village on August 16, 2013.
Following the murder, the victim's mother Asma Begum sued Liakat, his mother Suhara Begum and their relatives. Police submitted a charge sheet against Liakat Ali on March 4, 2014, court sources said.
