Key accused remanded

A Sylhet court yesterday placed the key accused on a two-day remand over killing of Bangladesh Chhatra League activist Abdul Alim of Madan Mohan College on the campus Wednesday.

Police arrested Pronojit Das, 21, the prime accused; Rahul Kanti Dey, and Angur Mia since the murder.

Basu Dey, a student of the college, was detained for interrogation.

The family filed the case against five BCL activists of the unit, including the three arrestees, and three to four unknown people with Kotwali Police Station.

During a police interrogation, Pronojit confessed to stabbing Alim to death over personal conflict, said Officer-in-Charge Sohel Ahmad.
