JnU teacher removed for supplying answers to admission seeker

The Jagannath University authorities yesterday suspended a teacher of political science for providing answers to one of his relatives during first year admission test held on Friday.

Mejbah-ul-Azam Sawdagar, an assistant professor, was suspended based on a preliminary investigation of the allegation, Prof Mizanur Rahman, vice-chancellor, told The Daily Star.

The next syndicate meeting will take a decision on his final punishment, the VC added.

Prof Sarkar Ali Akkas, chairman of B Unit admission test committee, told The Daily Star that "On Friday night, an invigilator of the room no 408 at Science Building submitted a written complaint to me alleging that another invigilator (Mejbah) from Social Science Building entered the room around ten minutes before the end of the test and provided answers to the admission seeker."

Mejbah was not available over the phone for his comment.
