Int'l help for flood forecast sought

Bangladesh yesterday sought international assistance in sharing the latest data and technology for reliable forecast and early warning of floods and flash floods.

 "We are eagerly willing to use the experiences of other countries," Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury told the 2nd ministerial conference of Regional Integrated Multi-hazard Early Warning System (RIMES) here.  Ministers and senior officials from 22 countries including hosts India joined the event.

Bangladesh joined RIMES on March 6, 2012.
