Hit by brick from under-construction building: woman dies in Dhaka's Jatrabari

A woman died after a brick chip fell on her from an under-construction building in Dhaka's Jatrabari area this morning.

The deceased was identified as Runa Akhter, 22, a garment worker living in West Mominbagh area with his husband and a son.

Runa was on her way to work around 7:45am. As she was passing by a four-storey under-construction building, a brick chip fell on her head, leaving her critically injured, her husband Md Shaheen told The Daily Star.

She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead around 9:00am.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, said the body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
