Hearing of Khaleda's plea against Niko graft case adjourned

The High Court yesterday adjourned till April 29 the hearing on the petition of BNP Chief Khaleda Zia filed challenging the legality of the Niko corruption case.

The Anti-Corruption Commission filed the case on December 9, 2007 accusing Khaleda and several others of abusing power to award a gas exploration and extraction deal to the Canadian company, Niko.

Following a petition filed by Khaleda, the HC on July 9, 2008 stayed the case proceedings.
