The High Court yesterday deferred to April 20 for delivering verdict on a petition seeking its directive on the government to produce "missing" BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed before it.

The HC deferred the date following a prayer of the petitioner's lawyer Khandakar Mahbub Hossain, saying that he will produce some additional documents before it on the day.

On March 12, the victim's wife Hasina Ahmed filed the petition with the HC seeking its order to produce Salahuddin before it within 24 hours and form a judicial body on his disappearance.

According to his family, plainclothes law enforcers picked up Salahuddin from a house in Uttara of the capital on March 10.
