The amount of food production has increased in the country in spite of manifold decrease of cultivable land in recent years, he said adding, the agriculture graduates contributed to achieving food autarky in the country and veterinary students have also immense roles to play for country's development.

The government is also going to take steps to procure fish from deep sea using modern technology and the prime minister has already given special directives to take steps in this regard, he added.

CVASU Vice-Chancellor Goutom Buddha Das presided over the function where first Secretary of Indian High Commission Rakesh Rahman, CVASU Treasurer Somen Dewan and CVASU Teachers Association President Mohammad Masuduzzaman were present among others.
