Five injured in clash over BLRI auction

Five people of two bidding groups were injured yesterday in a clash that broke out in Savar, outside the capital, during a cattle auction of Bangladesh Livestock Research Institution (BLRI).

The injured are Nazmul Huda, Savar correspondent of ETV, cameraman Md Shoriful Islam, and Rasel, all of Genda village, and Halim and Sabuj of Belma village. Rasel was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital. The others took first-aid.

The clash started as the two groups, one from Genda and another from Belma, were bidding competitively for a bull.

Additional police were deployed in the area. Ashulia police picked up Alal Miah, of the Belma group, for interrogation.
