Dhaka sessions court fire doused

The fire that broke out at Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's court in Old Dhaka this afternoon was doused in the evening after around two hours.

The fire broke out in a shelf of the courtroom around 4:45pm while a case was being heard, Md Farid Ahmed, assistant commissioner (prosecution) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), told The Daily Star.

On information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the flames around 6:43pm, said Rozina Akhter, a duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.

No casualties were reported in the fire, added the duty officer.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
