Fake doctor, errant pharmacies fined in ctg

A mobile court fined a fake doctor and six pharmacies a total of Tk 1.10 lakh for various irregularities in Chittagong city yesterday.

Kamrul Islam Reza, who had only completed a six-month Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) course, was fined Tk 50,000 for treating patients using the title "doctor" before his name.

Meera Medical Hall was fined for selling government subsidised medicines for hospitals, and Baba Malek Shah Pharmacy was fined for selling unauthorized medicines. Nirjhar Medical Hall, Popular Pharmacy, Shah Amanat Pharmacy and Kaderia Pharmacy were fined for not having drug licences.
