Abdullah Al Mohsin in critical condition; promoted to senior defence secretary

Defence secretary Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury, who is fighting against Covid-19 at the ICU of Combined Military Hospital (CMH), has been promoted to senior secretary today.

Public administration ministry issued a circular in this regard today. The order will come into effect from tomorrow (Monday), the circular said.

Abdullah Al Mohsin was admitted to CMH a few days back after he tested positive for Covid-19. He was shifted to the ICU yesterday afternoon after his condition deteriorated.

The secretary is in a "critical condition", an administrative source related to the secretary confirmed to The Daily Star today morning.

Earlier, he was staying in self-isolation at his residence after developing symptoms of Covid-19.
