Court asks police to publish ads to trace 13 fugitives

A Narayanganj court yesterday asked police to publish pictorial advertisements in newspapers to trace the 13 fugitives, including eight Rapid Action Battalion men, in the Narayanganj seven-murder case.

Copies of the adverts should be submitted to the court during the next hearing on November 9.

It also rejected the bail petition of Rab's member Lt Col Tareque Sayeed Mohammad and sent him and 21 other accused to jail.

On April 27 last year, Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his three aides and driver, and senior lawyer Chandan Sarkar along with his driver were kidnapped from Dhaka-Narayanganj link road. Within next four days the seven bodies were found floating in the Shitalakkhya river.

Nazrul's wife and Chandan's son-in-law filed two cases.
