Construction worker dies after falling from building in Dhaka

A construction worker died after falling from an under-construction building in Dhaka's Banasree area this morning.

Deceased Rakib Hossain, 24, lost balance and fell from the 12th floor of a 14-storey building while he was spraying water around 9:00am, his coworker Md Sharif said.

With critical injuries, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 10:00am.

Hailing from Naogaon, Rakib was employed in the building's construction work one and a half months ago. He used to live in the building.

The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy, said Abdul Khan, assistant sub-inspector of DMCH Police Outpost.
