CID arrests two for producing counterfeit sanitary napkin
CID has arrested two persons on charge of producing sanitary napkin in unhygienic atmosphere with sub-standard materials and selling those in the market under the name of a foreign brand.
The arrestees are: Azim Uddin, 35, and Golam Rahman, 32; both are from Jhenaidah district.
Based on a complaint, a team of CID carried out a raid at Mirpur-2 area yesterday and arrested the duo. The law enforcers also seized 2,200 packs of fake Whisper brand sanitary napkin in 40 cartons from their factory, says a press release.
The sub-standard pads can lead to cervical cancer, the press release said citing experts.
During primary interrogation, the arrestees told CID that they deceived people with fake Whisper sanitary napkin to make a quick buck.
A case was filed with Mirpur Police Station in this regard.
