BRTC to arrange special bus service for Ijtema pilgrims

Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will run a special bus service for ferrying Muslim pilgrims to and from the Bishwa Ijtema, the largest congregation of the Muslims after the hajj, from January 6 to 19.

Sources at the BRTC headquarters said the state-owned transport agency will operate 228 buses for carrying the pilgrims to the Ijtema ground from different places, including the capital, and bringing them back.

Three BRTC buses will travel to carry foreigners from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to the Ijtema ground, 29 for Abdullahpur-Motojheel via Ijtema venue route, 13 for Shibbari-Motijheel via Ijtema venue, 17 for Tongi-Motijheel via Ijtema venue, six for Gazipur crossing-Motijheel via Ijtema venue, five for Gabtoli-Gazipur via Ijtema venue, 35 for Gabtoli-Mohakhali via Ijtema venue, 25 for Gazipur-Motijheel via Ijtema venue, 20 for Motijheel-Bypiles via Ijtema venue, another 20 for Dhaka-Narayanganj, 20 for Chittagong Road/ Savar, 20 for Dhaka-Narsingdi and 15 BRTC bus will ply between Dhaka and Comilla.
