BCC suspends two officers for slandering Bangabandhu
The Barisal City Corpora-tion (BCC) yesterday suspended two officials and transferred another over making "disparaging" comments about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Jahangir Hossain and Sajjad Hossain, road inspectors of BCC, were suspended for making the remarks while another road inspector, Rezaul Kabir, was transferred to the taxation section of BCC as he did not protest the comments, said Ranjit Kumar, chief executive officer of BCC. A two-member probe committee comprising Anwar Hossain, secretary, and Imtiaz Hossain, executive magistrate of BCC, was formed to investigate the allegations and asked to submit their report within next three working days, he said. He said the two officials made the comments on Monday at their office in presence of the third.
