5 held for allegedly developing fake commerce ministry website

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested five people for allegedly making fake website of the commerce ministry to unload imported goods from Chattogram port.

The arrestees are Golam Mawla Khan, owner of Khan Enterprise, his brother Golam Rasul Khan, website developer Abul Khayer Parvez, Md Atikur Rahman and Rahat Haidar Chowdhury.

CID Special Police Superintendent of Chattogram Md Shahnewaz Khaled said they were arrested in drives for the past few days and three among them already confessed in court.

Chattogram Customs House has filed a case in this regard under the Digital Security Act.
