40 'pro-AL men' held over their clash in Ctg

Police arrested 40 people in separate raids in Chittagong yesterday in connection with Sunday's clash between the followers of a Jubo League leader and former Bangladesh Chhatra League leader in Chittagong Railway Building area in the city. 

Police claimed that the arrestees were involved with BCL and Jubo League activities although they did not hold any posts in the organisations.

On Sunday, followers of Jubo League leader Helal Akber Chowdhury Babor and former assistant general secretary of BCL Saiful Islam Limon clashed over establishing supremacy in the area, said police and witnesses.
