2 plastic factories fined Tk 23 lakh

Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd (DPDC) yesterday fined two plastic factories a total of Tk 23 lakh in the city's Kamrangirchar for pilferage of electricity.

DM Plastic factory pilfered 60,000 units of electricity bypassing the meter in last six months while another factory Meena Plastic stole 30,000 units through meter tampering, read a DPDC press release.

Electric connections to both the factories were cut off and the factories were sealed off too, said DPDC Chief Mohammad Munir Chowdhury.
