2 construction workers killed in Ctg wall collapse

Two construction workers were killed when a wall collapsed in the port city's Love Lane area under Chattogram Kotwali Police Station this morning.

The deceased are Md Salauddin (18) and Md Abdus Sukkur (25), reports our Chattogram correspondent.

Salauddin died on the spot while Sukkur succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), said police.

Al Imran, a sub-inspector (SI) of Kotwali Police Station, said a group of workers were working on the boundary wall of a local church near the Chattogram Regional Election Office on Love Lane area.

"At one stage, part of a boundary wall collapsed on the duo, leaving Salauddin dead on the spot and Sukkur injured. On information, fire service personnel and police rushed to the spot, he said.

Assistant Sub-inspector Alauddin Takuldar of CMCH Police Outpost said, "Sukkur succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Ward 28."

SI Imran said the bodies were sent to CMCH morgue for autopsy.
