1,000 mobile sets seized, 10 shops fined at Bashundhara

A mobile court backed by Rapid Action Battalion today seized at least 1,000 cell phones from ten shops at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in Dhaka. 

The shops were also fined Tk 2 lakh in total.

Executive Magistrate Sarwoer Alam along with Rab-2 members and Bangladesh Telecommunication and Regulatory Commission representatives conducted the drive in the country's second largest shopping mall between 3:00pm and 7:30pm today.

The shops were for selling counterfeit and stolen mobile phones, the magistrate added.
