Local journo dies with respiratory problems at Chandpur isolation ward

A local journalist died at the isolation ward of Chandpur Sadar Hospital with respiratory problems earlier today.

Abul Hasnat (52), Faridganj upazila correspondent of Dainik Samachar, breathed his last at the hospital around 2:30am, half an hour after he was brought to the hospital, said Dr Sujauddoula Rubel, resident medical officer Chandpur Sadar Hospital.

The patient was admitted to the hospital as he was suffering from severe breathing problems, said the doctor.

The health officials collected samples from the deceased for coronavirus testing, he added.

Harunur Rashid Sagar, health affairs secretary of Chandpur unit of Awami League, said Hasnat had been suffering from fever for two days.
