Omoda Jaecoo launches hybrid SUV at Dhaka Motor Show

Omoda Jaecoo has launched its Jaecoo J7 PHEV SHS at a motor show in Dhaka.

The launch marks the company’s entry into hybrid vehicle offerings in Bangladesh, according to a press release.

Shaidur Rahman, director of Omoda Jaecoo, attended the unveiling along with Asian Holdings Executive Director Zahed Hossain and Omoda Jaecoo Executive Director Shadiqul Mostuk.

Automotive enthusiasts Huq Riaz and Mustavi were also present.

The company said the model is powered by a hybrid system combining a 1.5 TDGI engine and a dedicated hybrid transmission.

It produces a combined output of 341 BHP and 525 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 180 kilometres per hour.

The vehicle offers a driving range of more than 1,350 kilometres and an electric-only range of over 100 kilometres.

The battery supports fast charging from 30 percent to 80 percent in around 20 minutes.

Omoda Jaecoo said the vehicle is designed for local conditions, including water wading capability.

Safety features include multiple airbags, high-strength steel structure and driver assistance systems.

The interior includes a touchscreen display, ventilated seats and external power supply capability.

The company said the model reflects growing demand for hybrid vehicles and sustainable mobility solutions in Bangladesh.
