ISD Class of 2026 secures $1.7 million in international scholarships

The graduating Class of 2026 at International School Dhaka (ISD) has secured international university scholarships worth $1.7 million.

The achievement was celebrated at a graduation ceremony held at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden, according to a press release.

The graduating cohort comprises 38 students.

According to the school, students have received offers from universities including the University of Sydney, King’s College London, the University of Manchester, Monash University, the University of Amsterdam, and institutions across the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Hong Kong.

Valedictorian Niyarah Mahbub will attend the University of California, San Diego to study Neurobiology.

Speaking of her experience, she shared, “Being part of the ISD community since Playgroup made me realize my potential to create positive change. My passion for helping people led me to neurobiology. Although rigorous, my curiosity about the brain and desire to assist others made me fall in love with this field. I am determined to pursue a career I genuinely love.”

ISD Director Steve Calland-Scoble said, “Watching our students receive their diplomas is an incredibly proud moment. This milestone is a testament to their hard work, our faculty's dedication, and the unwavering support of their families.”

Special guest Max Tuñón, country director of the International Labour Organization in Bangladesh, said, “Education is the foundation for meaningful work and global leadership on a global stage. Seeing the ambition and diversity of talent in this room gives me immense hope for the future.”
