United Commercial Bank opens 236th branch in Ashulia

United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) yesterday launched a new branch at Atik Bepari Mansion in Dhaka’s Ashulia, aimed at serving local customers, entrepreneurs and businesses with a wide range of convenient, secure and technology-driven banking services.

This is the bank’s 236th branch.

Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid, managing director and CEO of the bank, inaugurated the branch as the chief guest, according to a press release.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Rashid said, “Through this branch, we aim to deliver modern, customer-centric banking solutions to entrepreneurs, business owners, working professionals and the wider community, helping meet their evolving financial needs.”

Highlighting UCB’s nationwide expansion efforts, he said the bank remains committed to promoting financial inclusion and ensuring access to modern banking services across all regions of Bangladesh.

“Through our extensive network of branches, sub-branches and agent banking outlets, we continue to serve customers nationwide,” he added.

He further said, “We believe the new Ashulia branch will make banking services more accessible and convenient for local customers.”

Prof Farid A Sobhani, vice-chancellor of Eastern University, and Md Solaiman Ahmed, deputy general manager of Dhaka Palli Bidyut Samity-1, along with senior bank officials, local business leaders, community representatives, clients and guests, were also present at the event.
