Prime Bank hosts financial literacy seminar at Khulna University

Prime Bank PLC, in collaboration with the Khulna University Career Club, recently organised a seminar, titled “Financial Inclusion: Engaging & Inspiring Youth in Banking”, at Khulna University under its flagship PrimeAcademia initiative.

The seminar aimed to equip students with practical knowledge of banking, financial literacy and money management. Discussions focused on financial inclusion, responsible money management, informed financial decision-making, saving habits and career planning.

Prof Md Rezaul Karim, vice-chancellor of Khulna University, inaugurated the programme as the chief guest, according to a press release.

Highlighting the opportunities created by advances in information technology, he encouraged students to make the most of emerging opportunities in higher education, research and career development. He also appreciated the university’s Career Club and Prime Bank for organising the session.

MM Mahbub Hasan, senior vice-president and head of financial inclusion and school banking at Prime Bank, delivered the keynote address on financial literacy and smart money management.

He discussed healthy financial habits, balancing income and expenses, regular savings, informed financial decisions and long-term financial discipline. He also introduced his “Grandfather Concept of Personal Money Management” and highlighted Prime Bank’s 31-year journey and the evolving expectations and opportunities for young people in banking.

Prof Md Salauddin, director of student affairs at the university, attended as a special guest. He stressed the need for more customer-friendly and effective initiatives in the banking sector, saying such programmes can help students better understand the workplace and financial sector while preparing for their careers.

Monowara Khatun, vice-president and head of talent acquisition and OD at the bank; Mostafa Mahmud, vice-president and regional head (south); and Ruhul Amin Munna, president of the Khulna University Career Club, along with other officials from both organisations, were also present.
