Prime Bank holds anti-money laundering training for officials

Prime Bank PLC recently organised a regional training on anti-money laundering (AML)  and combating the financing terrorism (CFT) compliance at Prime Tower in Nikunja-2, Dhaka, reaffirming its “zero tolerance” stance against money laundering and terrorist financing.

The programme brought together 153 branch officials from the bank’s Dhaka East region to strengthen adherence to global compliance standards.

Md Ziaur Rahman, additional managing director and chief anti-money laundering compliance officer (CAMLCO) of the bank, inaugurated the event as chief guest.

In his address, he stressed the vital role of branch officials in protecting the national economy from financial crimes.

The conference featured specialised training sessions to ensure the technical proficiency. Md Jaynul Abedeen, joint director of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit, and Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, assistant director, conducted the sessions as the resource persons.

Md Iqbal Hossain, deputy managing director of the bank; Mamur Ahmed, senior executive vice-president; and Md Enamul Kabir, regional head; along with other senior officials, were also present at the training event.
