Dhaka Bank, Visa team up to accelerate card portfolio growth
Dhaka Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Visa, the global digital payment service provider, to accelerate the growth of Dhaka Bank’s Visa card portfolio and strengthen digital payment services in Bangladesh.
The agreement establishes a long-term strategic growth framework covering cards across Dhaka Bank’s consumer and commercial segments, while developing new products and services to deliver a seamless customer experience.
Osman Ershad Faiz, managing director and CEO of the bank, and Sabbir Ahmed, country manager for Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan at Visa, signed the agreement at a ceremony in Dhaka recently, according to a press release.
Commenting on the agreement, Osman said, “This agreement marks an important step in strengthening Dhaka Bank’s Visa card business.”
“Through this strategic partnership, we aim to expand our Visa card portfolio, enhance customer benefits, increase card usage and further contribute to the growth of Bangladesh’s digital payment ecosystem,” he added.
Sabbir said, “Bangladesh’s digital payments ecosystem is advancing rapidly, and our partnership with Dhaka Bank PLC reinforces Visa’s commitment to enabling trusted, secure, and innovative payment experiences for consumers and businesses across the country.”
Among others, Md Mostaque Ahmed, deputy managing director and chief emerging market officer of the bank; HM Mostafizur Rahaman, senior executive vice-president and head of retail business division; and Arifur Rahman, director of business development for South Asia at Visa, were also present.
