Stocks falling

The stock market index fell today after experiencing a rise yesterday.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), edged down 49 points, or 0.77 per cent, to 6,930 until 1pm.

At the DSE, 107 stocks advanced, 228 declined and 41 remained unchanged.

Aramit Ltd topped the gainers' list that rose 8.7 per cent followed by Ambee Pharmaceuticals, Rahim Textiles, Bangladesh Monospool Paper Manufacturing Company and Apex Foods.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also dropped.The CASPI, the main index of the port city bourse, down 152 points, or 0.74 per cent, to 20,310.

Among traded 257 stocks, 66 rose, 167 fell and 24 were the same.
