Reciprocal trade deal with US ‘highly discriminatory’: CPD
The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) today said that the reciprocal trade agreement between the United States and Bangladesh is ‘highly discriminatory.’
The deal, signed early this month by both countries, will severely jeopardise Bangladesh's smooth graduation from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category, said CPD Research Director Khondaker Golam Moazzem at a media briefing on the social and economic policies of the new government for the first 180 days and beyond at its office in Dhaka.
He urged the government to immediately take measures to withdraw from the agreement, since no notification has yet been exchanged between the two countries.
