No limit now on number of transactions through bKash, Nagad & others

Customers can now do unlimited transactions through mobile financial services (MFSs).

The Bangladesh Bank issued a circular today and withdrew the limit of number of MFS transactions.

The banking regulator also raised the monthly cash-in limit by 250 percent.

Earlier, a customer could cash-in Tk 2 lakh per month, which has been set at Tk 5 lakh now.

Of the amount, a customer will be able to cash-in Tk 2 lakh through agents and Tk 3 lakh through bank transfer per month.

Ten years past the advent of MFS, over 11 crore accountholders now conduct 2 crore transactions a day.

Today MFS operators daily transact Tk 2,300 crore on an average, employing 11.23 lakh agents, according to Bangladesh Bank data.
