Consumer prices rise 8.34% in September

Inflation eased slightly to 8.34 percent in September from a year earlier, according to data published by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) today.

However, the rate is higher than the 8.26 percent recorded in August this year.

In September, food inflation stood at 7.22 percent and non-food inflation at 9.30 percent. The corresponding figures were 7.02 percent and 9.32 percent in the previous month, and 7.64 percent and 8.98 percent in September last year.
