Ex-NBR chief made Bangladesh's alternate executive director at World Bank
The government has appointed Abdur Rahman Khan, the immediate past chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), as Bangladesh’s alternate executive director at the World Bank headquarters in Washington, DC.
Rahman will serve for three years on a contractual basis from the date of joining, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration today.
The interim government led by Muhammad Yunus appointed Rahman as NBR chairman in August 2024 after cancelling the contractual appointment of his predecessor, Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem.
Rahman’s tenure ended at the end of June this year.
