Digital Trade Week kicks off
The Digital Trade Week kicked off today in an attempt to promote digital trade and initiate digitisation of trade in the ready-made garments sector.
Merchant Bay, an online-based B2B platform working with trade digitisation, sourcing digitisation and production monitoring, is organising the fair.
Merchant Bay's verified suppliers will be able to showcase their products and factory facilities to buyers from different countries across the world through private sessions during the trade week, reads a statement.
The expo was inaugurated through a webinar session titled 'Digital Trade in Global Perspective'.
Mena Hassan, a trade policy analyst at World Trade Organization; Rubana Huq, president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA); Yuji Ando, country representative for Japan External Trade Organization; and Abrar Hossain Sayem, managing director of Merchant Bay attended the webinar.
