Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2026 kicks off tomorrow in Dhaka
Bangladesh’s largest technology showcase, the Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2026, will begin on January 28 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC) in the capital.
The four-day event is being jointly organised by the ICT Division, the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA), and the Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS).
Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus will inaugurate the expo as the chief guest. The announcement was made at a press conference held at Intercontinental Dhaka today.
The briefing was moderated by BCS President Mohammad Zahirul Islam and addressed by ICT Division Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury; BHTPA Managing Director Md Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan; BHTPA Member (Investment and Park Coordination) and ICT Division Joint Secretary Mohammad Saiful Hasan; and BCS Secretary General Mohammed Monirul Islam.
The expo will feature innovation, digital device, mobile, e-sports, and B2B zones, along with product discounts and offers.
Five seminars and four panel discussions on digital transformation, investment, startups, manufacturing, and telecom-led inclusion will be held.
Entry is free with online or on-site registration, and the venue will be fully Wi-Fi enabled using satellite internet technology.
Joint Secretary Mohammad Saiful Hasan said the expo reflects Bangladesh’s investment readiness, policy direction, and long-term technology vision, aiming to build a connected, sustainable, and investor-friendly digital ecosystem.
BCS President Zahirul Islam said the expo places special emphasis on student innovations and locally manufactured tech products.
Seminars, panel discussions, and knowledge sessions will focus on skills development, investment promotion, youth participation, employment, and entrepreneurship.
ICT Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury said the government is actively countering misinformation and harmful online narratives through a high-powered, multi-agency coordination mechanism.
A 15-member team is conducting regular monitoring, supported by 21 engineers working round the clock.
He said suspicious online content is immediately fact-checked and reported to the National Cyber Security Authority, which coordinates with the BTRC.
BHTPA Managing Director Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan said the impact of hi-tech parks is now visible nationwide, with technology benefits reaching district and remote levels.
He noted that the expo will showcase top student innovations alongside solutions from local and international tech companies, highlighting Bangladesh’s growing digital capabilities.
