Dhaka bourse’s turnover hits seven-month low

The turnover at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) fell to a seven-month low today because of thin participation of investors.

The turnover fell 7 per cent compared to the previous day to end the day at Tk 1,068 crore today, which was Tk 1,154 crore in the previous day.

However, the DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, rose 8 points to 6,906.

At the premier bourse, 131 stocks advanced, 195 declined and 49 remained unchanged.

Aamra Networks topped the gainers' list that rose 9.28 per cent followed by Alltex Industries, NRB Commercial Bank, Salvo Chemical, and Shinepukur Ceramics.

Stocks of Beximco Ltd traded mostly that worth Tk 99 crore followed by NRB Commercial Bank, British American Tobacco Bangladesh, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, and Orion Pharmaceuticals.

Quasem Industries shed mostly that dropped 6.83 per cent followed by Prime Textiles, Zaheen Spinning Mills, First Finance, and Bangladesh Monospool Paper Manufacturing.

The Chattogram bourse also rose today. The CASPI, the main index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), increased 10 points, or 0.05 per cent, to 20,197.

Among 274 stocks traded, 95 rose, 147 fell and 32 remained unchanged.
